Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 7, 2026. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Pixel Star Assault.

Who operates the game

Pixel Star Assault is published by Giulio Zaccardo ("we", "us" or "our"). You can contact us at giuliozaccardo@gmail.com.

Information handled by the game

Campaign and Endless do not require an account. Campaign progress, unlocked ships, upgrades, settings, daily rewards and personal Endless scores are stored locally on your device using Apple platform storage. We do not receive this local gameplay data. Monthly Flight is a separate, optional online competition.

Monthly Flight and Game Center

If you choose to participate in Monthly Flight, Game Center verifies your game identity. The competition service stores a hashed game-specific player identifier and a generated callsign, not your Apple Account email, real name, Game Center nickname or password. Your callsign, verified best score for the current competition and earned trophies or stars are public. The current competition standings reset for each new flight; accumulated honors remain in the global leaderboard.

The app sends the controls recorded during a competitive run so the server can recalculate and verify the result. Raw controls are processed for verification and are not retained on the server. We retain a replay hash, the verified result, rules version and run timestamps. A result awaiting upload stays on your device until accepted or discarded. These records are used to operate and protect the competition, not for advertising or sale.

Short-lived authentication proofs, sessions, request counters and an IP-derived request key protect the service against abuse. The online competition is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Hosting providers may process network metadata needed to deliver and secure the service. Details are available in the Monthly Flight privacy supplement.

Advertising and consent

Pixel Star Assault uses Google AdMob to show interstitial and rewarded advertisements. Depending on your region, device settings and consent choices, Google and its partners may process information such as approximate location inferred from IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, product interactions, diagnostics and performance data. This may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, maintain security and improve services.

Where required, the game presents Google’s consent form before requesting ads. You can revisit available advertising privacy choices from the game’s Settings screen. If permission or consent is unavailable, advertising may be limited or non-personalized.

Google’s own terms and privacy practices apply to its services. See Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Purchases

Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction status and product identifiers needed to grant the purchased item, but we do not receive your payment card or banking details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. Apple and Google process information as needed to provide purchases, advertising, consent management, fraud prevention and platform services described above. OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide the online competition infrastructure. Monthly Flight callsigns, scores and honors are public as described in this policy.

Retention and your choices

Local game data remains on your device until you reset the game or remove the app, subject to Apple backup behavior. Retention of information processed by Apple or Google is governed by their policies. You can manage device advertising controls in iOS Settings and available consent choices inside the game.

Verified competitive results and honors remain while the competition service operates unless you delete your online data. In the game, use Settings → Delete leaderboard data, authenticate with the same Game Center account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your online profile, results and honors without deleting your Apple account, purchases or offline progress. Authentication sessions expire after two hours and proof records after five minutes; expired temporary records are pruned on subsequent sign-ins, together with abandoned runs older than two days. You may also contact us about your data.

Children

The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided online information without the appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.

International processing

Apple, Google, OpenAI Sites, Cloudflare and their service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, using safeguards required by applicable law.

Changes

We may update this policy when the game or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
